You know you are in your mid-twenties when...

Upon graduation from college, I find that people do one of two things. They either gracefully morph into adulthood with their new job, apartment, and horrid bills/ loan payments that continually come every month…Or, they fight the system and try to pretend they are still in college and refuse to embrace the impending years closer to their 30s. It’s funny how much you change in such a short span of time, slowly at first and next thing you know, you are signing your first lease without your parents, having another birthday thinking “my parents were married for two years” at your age, and looking around and seeing rings, babies, jobs, etc. This series is going to be devoted to those little changes that I am just noticing about myself. Those, you know you are in your mid-twenties (I am 24) when….

And todays post: You know you are in your mid-twenties when you no longer subscribe to Cosmo, Glamour, and InStyle. You let those subscriptions go for Southern Living, Bon Appetite, and Coastal Living. When did that happen?!  My Cosmo was the first to go, it said essentially the same thing each month, then InStyle- just because I needed groceries rather than drooling over a Dolce dress that I could never afford, and last Glamour. I still religiously follow Hollywood drama and celebs but just online. Now I find myself perusing stacks of home décor, garden, food, hosting ideas etc. I enjoy fantasizing about what a room will look like in my house, what color palettes would work, and how to make a house masculine and feminine, tied up in.. maybe a bow? As I am preparing to decorate my apartment, I gladly and am almost giddy looking though Southern Living, Pinterest, etc. for inspiration. (Even if it’s on a budget)  When did I start getting dreamy eyed looking at Martha Stewart Living and summery pasta salads..I don’t know, but I like it.

Favorite Youtube Channels

I follow quite a few beauty and lifestyle channels, scrolling through my Youtube subscriptions, I didn't realize how many I adore. I have a routine each day. I start my mornings catching up on all my blogs (favorite blogs post to follow) and then my afternoons after work, I tend to unwind and catch up on my youtube channels.

Favorite Beauty Channels:
1. Jaclyn Hill
My go to Mac girl (well she used to work for them) but good lord is she amazing!! Her tutorials, makeup hauls, reviews, etc. are bible! She is probably one of the best of the best. Plus she is hilarious!

2. Fleur De Force
I adore Fleur. Her tutorials, her new house tours, cooking, her pups, her bride channel, her blog, she's my favorite beauty guru across the pond. I adore her accent and her fashion sense. She makes me want to experiment with new products and different clothing lines.

3. Anna Saccone
I talk about her daily vlogs below but I love her style videos, hair and makeup, and I love this momma's approach to losing weight after baby. She's a great mom and a great beauty guru.

4. Elle Fowler
This southern girl from Tennessee, moved to LA, keeps me up to date with beauty, fashion, and decor.

5. Juicystar07  (Blair Fowler)
This is Elle's younger sister. She's three years younger than me but I love her makeup tutorials, her home decor videos, fashion, and organization videos.

6. The Makeup Chair
The holy grail of step by step makeup lessons, grooming tips and tricks, event makeup tutorials, etc. This is the best for beginners!!

Honorable Mentions:
lobosworth
Amarixe
MakeupByTiffanyD
MissGlamorazzi
Casey Holmes

Favorite HAUL videos:
Leighannsays

Favorite Daily Vlogs:
1. SacconeJolys: I am obsessed with Anna and Jofee and their two babies, Emilia and Eduardo. They are my first video I watch each day! I have been watching their daily vlogs for two years now, and they are a wonderful young family with the most adorable kids! Ahh I could go on about how much I adore them and their Irish accents (Well they live in London now, Emilia has more of an English accent and Anna grew up in the states so she doesn't have that much of an accent) I love Anna's other channels for makeup, hair, lifestyle, post baby updates, healthy eating, etc. Can you tell I love them?
2. ItsJudyLife is another daily vlogging family. Judy, like Anna does her own makeup channel, but she also daily vlogs with her husband Benji. They have three sweet babies, Julianna (Julianna Bear), and infant twins Keira (Keira bear) and Miya (Miya bear). They are always an entertaining family to watch.

Face Masks

First off, I will preface, I have acne, it's hormonal, but the pesky zits have been there for a few years. It's beyond frustrating being in my twenties and still making sure that I cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, and treat my very dry, sensitive skin. It's taken me a few years to get a routine of products that work for my skin. One of my rituals is a mask, twice a week, usually after the shower since my pores are opened up, my skin has been cleansed, and I'm not applying a mask to a dry face. I've tried quite a few masks because of this regime. A few months ago, I received a sample of GlamGlow Tinglexfoliate treatment mask. I had heard rave reviews on the Youtube beauty gurus I follow and the blogs I read. I could not wait to try it! The first time I tried it, it burned my skin. Literally felt painfully on fire, I tried it a few days later, and decided, nope, not my cup of tea. I just spent quite a bit of money on a sample size that left me very unhappy. Surprisingly enough, besides my Murad mask, all of my favorite masks are very inexpensive. Below I will share what I use, and want I want to try.

(You can find all Freeman Products at Walgreens, CVS, etc. $3.99)
This is supposed to pure the pores, has Vitamin E in it for moisture, and for normal to oily skin. I like the use this if I am trying to clear up any inflammation.
The Dead Sea minerals aka sea salt, helps to clear your pores and balance the PH of your skin. It's a great moisturizing mask. I normally use this after my shower to lock in my skins moisture.
This is my HOLY GRAIL of face masks. I left it at my parents house over break and it took me two months to track one down at a drugstore because I was too lazy to order it online. I LOVE this face mask! Its a sugar and charcoal mask that heats up to your touch and on your face. It detoxifies and exfoliates. My skin is always so much calmer after this mask.
If my skin is really angry and red, I like to use this as my emergency remedy. You apply the blackhead remover to areas prone to blackheads and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing off. Follow up with the pore refining sealer. This is great for enlarged pores and clogged pores. Just like the charcoal scrub, this works wonders on my skin!

WHAT I WANT TO TRY

LUSH Love Lettuce fresh face mask.
2.1 oz for $6.95 at a local Lush shop. I have heard rave reviews about their fresh face masks. It's main ingredient is honey (which I use when I make my homemade face masks), almonds, lavender oil, and seaweed. It is supposed to be a nourishing face mask that exfoliates and unclogs pores.
This mask is a hydrating treatment that immediately reveals softer, firmer, healthier-looking skin. It is made of black tea ferment, like Kombucha- which I regularly drink as a holistic source, known for cell energy and cell regeneration. This definitely on my list of face masks to try.

Happy skin purifying!

2014 Summer Bikini Trend Guide

I have been absolutely loving the trends for this summer and the swimsuit trends did not fall short. I was not a fan of last year's fringe bikini tops and the shelf bikini tops. I saw few girls pull it off and other's made me cringe at their attempt. Sometimes you have to know what works for your body, stick to the classics, and test the waters a little bit. The swimsuits below are not all but some of the trends this summer, most are on sale, and I now have a list of new 'kinis that I need to own.

Classic
If I were still living in the south, this seersucker triangle bikini would be a staple for the beach!
(J. Crew Top: $52 Bottoms: $44, 30% off with code HISUMMER)

Long Line
A nod to retro swimwear, the longline top provides that bit of extra support for larger busted ladies and gives a bit of a boost to those who are on the flat-chested side.

(Top Shop: $68)

High Waisted Bottoms
This look is very 1950s pin up girl. I can't count how many times I have seen Taylor Swift wearing high waisted swimsuits, let alone high waisted clothing. This trend has been out for a few years now. Very cute when worn right!
(ASOS: on sale, $18.10 bottoms)

 French Bikini
This top, similar to the classic strip bikini, is a little more modest. Mostly worn by small chested women because of its lack of support.

(Anthropology: Top: $48, Bottoms: $38)

White
One of the signature colors of the season. I would be remiss if I didn't include it. I love this front tie bandeau, with built in underwire for support. Classy, timely, Grace Kelly meets Sex in the City.

(H&M: top: on sale, $4.95- SERIOUSLY!)

Front Tie
I actually own this bikini! I love the flirty tie at the front. This bandeau top has optional straps but is a very fun top to wear that will stay put and keep the tan lines away.
(Victoria's Secret: Sale, $18-21)

Enjoy your summer by the water! I know I will!

Friiiiiday Faaaavvooriitteeess.....JUST KIDDING.. Makeup with Glasses

So I had a busy week at work and that left for little else... so I didn't want to just repeat Friday favorites since my favorites all have to do with immunohistochemistry, etc. Fun stuff! I know. So I decided to do a post about wearing makeup with glasses. I wear glasses, not contacts. I cannot see far away so I wear them when I am driving and sometimes I just wear them all day. I didn't start wearing glasses until I was 18, so I learned early on that when wearing glasses, you should darken your makeup. Glasses tend to swallow up your face, so by adding a little more drama to your eyes, you are drawing the focus back to your eyes and not your glasses. Here is how I normally wear my makeup with glasses....

Glasses without makeup...
And after makeup.. I emphasize a little color on my lids and a coral lip liner and lip gloss on my lips.

For my makeup, I used the Naked2 Palette. I highlighted under my brows and inner corners. I darkened my crease with a darker brown and winged out my eyeliner. Please note: make sure your eyebrows are tweezed or waxed and shaped to compliment your glasses.

Have a great weekend.
XOXO

Relationship Series: Part 3: Long Distance Relationships

So as you know from the past two parts of my relationship series. I have a boyfriend. I'm probably not going to go into detail about his job, but he's in the military and stationed out in California. If you're in the military, I am sure you can guess... Anyway, we first met in St. Louis, MO, where we are both from and grew up. After college, he was stationed at a few bases before going overseas and stationed around Asia for two years. He returned almost a year ago to be stationed in Cali. I left for college in Charleston, SC and continued on for grad school. I just moved back to the Midwest, as I am in my doctoral program at Mizzou, so I live in Columbia, MO. Being across a country from each other and 3 time zones away, sucked. Our first five months, I stayed up super late to Skype, text, or talk to him on the phone. Mostly Skype. We saw each other once a month for a few days of an extended weekend. He met my family, I met his. When we first started talking, it seemed like it was a non-starter of a relationship. He was across the country from me. Well, five days after we started talking, he booked a flight to see me in Charleston. The following month, I booked a flight to see him. I knew I loved him early on. We had very similar interests and outlooks, although he is a lot more positive than me. We figured if we saw each other once a month it wasn't so bad. Except we haven't seen each other since April 28th. Between my graduation, drill, his changing jobs, my new job, my move, etc. There has been no time and no money to spare for a trip to see each other. It's tough. Skype and 'I love you' texts only go so much. I've been in long distance before, and it all came screaming back how much it sucks. But at the end of each day, do I think its worth it? Yes. It's not forever, at least I hope. I try to be supportive but still have a life outside of my relationships. We both have our own routines and lives and we always make time for the other. In a few weeks, he is coming to St. Louis and driving with me to NC to see my great grandfather for his 102nd birthday. Then we are going to VA and Michigan for a wedding. 10 full days together! Every time I see him, I get nervous that it wont feel the same, but we pick up where we left off. I'm not saying that long distance is easy and some days I don't think its manageable or even doable. But those fears and doubts are usually suffocated by knowing I love him and he loves me. And that taking things slow and enjoying each other's company, not trying to speed up our lives, is something I am interested in.

He's kind of amazing. I'm very lucky.

June Ipsy Glam Bag Review

So for anyone that doesn't know what Ipsy or an Ipsy glam bag is, it's a monthly subscription -like a magazine subscription- except you pay $10 each month that includes shipping, for 4-5 deluxe sample size or full sized makeup, hair, skin, and body products. You also get a new makeup bag with each month as well. It is usually theme based. I have had this subscription for almost a year and I adore it! It's like Christmas every month. And you can take a quiz and gear your bag towards your wants and needs. You can also rate each product in your bag after receiving it for not only Ipsy Points but for a more "YOU" Ipsy bag!

If you want to join, use me as a referral!! http://www.ipsy.com/r/1mbl

Here is my June Ipsy Bag!!
This months theme is "Pretty in Paradise"
"Warm white sandy beaches or a cafe under a star filled night sky, being pretty in YOUR paradise is only a Glam Bag away. We picked products that are excellent for an extravagant getaway or a quintessential kit for a quick trip for some peace and quiet. What paradise is on your bucket list?"

1. Laneige is a  “5-in-one under the sun” skin care in a compact. Powered by SPF 50 broad-spectrum UVA, UVB protection, the synergy of its exclusive Cushion Form technology and unique application hydrates, brightens, color corrects and soothes all skin types, all day. Fine lines are filled; coverage is complete, skin looks flawless, luminous. I am in the color fair. I am excited because I have heard that it's amazing!!

2. Jesse's Girl Waterproof Liquid Liner is a true black liquid liner creates a bold, precise, ultra-fine line that's both waterproof and smudge-proof. The unique, caligraphy-style brush allows you to create lines as thin as one millimeter!  The tip is super fine and I really like the eyeliner!

 3. NYX Butter Gloss, I got it in Apple Strudel. I've heard really great things about their lip gloss line, but I had never tried one. I hate lip glosses that are sticky, or leave a film on the edges of your lips. Blech! So I was pleasantly surprised how smooth and buttery this lip gloss is. I really like it! I got my bag on Friday and I have worn it every day since then!

4.  Marc Anthony Beach Waves Beach Spray to create "natural, effortless, beach hair worn loose, soft and wavy. It adds body and texture to straight, fine strands or pumps up the curl in already wavy hair. Add extra definition to your wavy layers. Hydrolyzed Silk and Provitamin B5 protect your tresses while adding moisture and shine. Powerful UV Protectors absorb ultraviolet light to save your mane from harmful sun exposure, dehydration and color-fade. You’re left with manageable, touchable waves." Definitely excited to try it!!

5. Be a Bombshell Mascara in black. I couldn't find my Maybelline Falsies Mascara before I was heading out the door to a family party this past week so I thought I would try it. I was NOT a fan. It had a strong alcohol and chemical odor. Did not give me volume or length. I have long eyelashes without mascara but I was not impressed. Will not be grabbing for that again. And I will put in my review no more Be A Bombshell products.

This is what the makeup bag looks like. It was Rebecca Minkoff designed. I love it!! Super cute to add to my makeup bag collection thanks to Ipsy!!

XOXO

Friday Favorites: Embrace the Moment

This week has been surprisingly tough for me. My second week at my new job was awesome! I love the lab and the people seem very nice! I am getting a lot of experience and learning new lab techniques which is invaluable. However, I've been in Missouri for a month now, and it's weird. I feel like a part of me is missing. Like I am going back to Charleston, to the Citadel- a place I felt whole and me. Everything is so new. I'm stuck between being nostalgic from the past and eager for the future, and not much in between. I have been feeling this way for a few days and trying to pretend like everything is great... so my first favorites is a quote I read from one of my favorite bloggers: Mommasgonecity.

1. "Live in those moments, not light years ahead. Find footing. Keep changing. Just be." - Mommas Gone City

2. Sunsets over Highway 70. It was my second Sunday of driving back to Columbia and watching the sun set over the clouds and storms that followed all week. Truly beautiful view.
3. Loving barn pictures lately and I find every time I drive past a barn, dilapidated or bright red, I have been snapping shots as I drive by.

 4. My June IPSY bag came in the mail!! Slightly obsessed with Ipsy so I will make a review blog post on Monday of my new bag.

5. Pulled pork tacos with a Hawaiian slaw and bbq sauce drizzle by the pool? Yes!! I can't wait to repeat that this weekend!!

Hope for nice weather!! And for me to feel a little more settled in this new chapter of my life.

XOXO,

Rach

Dry Shampoo Review: EVA NYC

I was watching youtube beauty gurus talk about the new EVA NYC dry shampoo that they got in their gift bags from the generation beauty conference. I was intrigued. I had started using dry shampoos about a year ago, just to extend the time between washing my hair and drying it out. I liked it but I wasn't completely sold on the kind I bought, it left a white spot where I sprayed and no amount of massaging it into my scalp helped. So I picked up EVA NYC today at Ulta. They were having a buy 1 get 1 free sale of the product. So I ended up getting two bottles for $11.99. The bottle says "Perfect for busy girls, the Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo keeps hair fresh one day longer without even washing! The expert formula instantly revives dull and lifeless hair by removing excess oil and odor leaving it clean, stylish and smooth." I tried it tonight. OMG it smells amazing! No strong alcohol smell, I rubbed it in and there was no residue, I like the packaging. It's only 5.3 oz which isn't great but since I got in on sale, I can justify the price. Make sure that if you do buy a dry shampoo, that you spray it two inches away from your head and I prefer to do it at night so that it can soak up excess oils while I sleep.

So if you are looking for a dry shampoo, I would definitely recommend this! You can find it at Ulta.

Summer Trend: Pineapple

This summer, there are definitely a few trends I will be following. Although white on white can be gorgeous, I know that my not-so graceful self will have troubles keeping it clean. Between florals, Aztec prints, and others, the one I found the most simple to incorporate was the pineapple print trend. I found a top at Old Navy the other day, for $5! Seriously, it has instantly become a favorite of mine. Interestingly, I cannot find it on their website so it might have been a regional sale only. Either way, here are a few tops that would fall into the summer trend without being overkill.
www.jollychic.com $10.99 for this top!!

www.zappos.com  $26.00

Have a great week! I was up way too early and in the lab. So bedtime!

Relationship Series: Part 2: Boxes

I can't say I have a type. I never only dated blondes or brunettes. I didn't go to medical schools or law schools to go husband hunting. I didn't go to football to pick up the quarterback because I only dated jocks. I didn't have a height requirement. My only type or common theme was that all the guys I have dated have been older, usually two or three years older. Steve is my oldest yet, with our four year difference. I have dated funny guys, serious guys, insecure guys, etc. However, I have found over the years, more and more peers, girls and guys that have requirements that their significant other must meet to get the approval. For example, you had to be smart, you had to be blonde, you had to be fit (by the way, this was all dictated to me in my second relationship). For girls, he had to tall, want children, have a steady job, etc. I find that so many people put requirements on the other person before they even met them, before they even got to know them. Sure, I don't want a deadbeat guy who lives at home with his parents and doesn't have a job. But I find these boxes that need to be checked for just a simple first date, to be honest, silly.

I can honestly say that I have never interviewed (interrogated) a guy on a date or before a first date. And if I was interrogated on my first date on my one, three, and five year plan, I promise I would be booking it to the door while he was in the bathroom. I have never said, "Oh you only want one child... nevermind I simply cannot date you." In my opinion, children shouldn't be brought up until the third or fourth date, and even then, its a feeler to see what they think about kids. If they bring it up, then I am sure they are seeing how your response will be. I think its always fun finding out about the other person, their likes and dislikes. Its even better when their likes and dislikes align with yours. And if they don't, can you live with that? You don't have to change your life for that person. Steve loves soccer. I have not really watched much soccer nor did I ever play. But I don't mind watching a soccer game with him. I know that he will never watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians with me, just like he knows I will never know what plane he is identifying in the sky, nor do I care to know. He knows that I try to start fights just to see what he will say, and I know he hates fighting. We have learned this over a six month period and there is so much to be learned. I did not learn this on a first date with a clipboard, checking off all of my rules.

Like I said, I have been in a previous relationship, where I changed myself to fit the boxes that were required. Not only did it make me feel like an object, I knew that it wasn't healthy, and worst of all, I knew that it would never matter what I did, I would never be good enough or the perfect arm candy that was expected of me. He could gain weight, I could not. I would be ridiculed if I didn't work out. When I cut my hair to my shoulders, he was furious, barely speaking to me because his girlfriends had LONG blonde hair, not short. I had to always be in a dress, preferably a Southern brand and wear Rainbows or Jack Rogers. That and many, many other reasons ended that relationship. I guess after getting out from under that horrible relationship, I realized, not only did I never have boxes, but I despised boxes. I remember when a friend told me that Steve only dated smart girls, and I started using bigger words. Until I realized, I'm not a genius, but I am smart. For a split second, I felt inadequate and not up to his standards. Then I thought, forget that, if he wants to be with me, he will be.

When I started dating Steve, I told him my aversion to having stipulations. I don't ask him to be something he's not, and it should be reciprocal. He agreed. But he also said he had things he looked for in a girlfriend, but I took that list and exceeded it. I even made "boxes" that he didn't know were important to him or he liked. For example, I love to wrestle, doesn't matter if its on a couch or anywhere, I am always into mischief, that apparently is one of his boxes now. Or that she needs to understand military lingo, because oh wait, I went to a military school so his life is second nature to me. Its silly, I know. I guess what I am trying to say on this little rant, is that when I met Steve, I didn't think, oh I hope his five year plan matches up with mine. I thought, wow this guy is really interesting, let's see where this goes. Because the truth is, everyone is winging it in life, so might as well see what happens.

Friday Favorites

This week has been interesting.. It was my first week at my new research facility and at University of Missouri-Columbia. This is an interesting transition, living with roommates this summer, going from a very small school to a huge university, and making sure everything is taken care as far as my PhD. But without further ado, here are my weekly favorites!

1. Flowers from Steve. He sent me flowers on my first day! He's so sweet.
2. I love San Pellegrino! But my absolute favorite flavor is the Blood Orange. I bought a six pack. I crave carbonation so this is my "healthy" version.
3. Gold Foil Prints like this one. I have been searching for three gold foil prints that I want to frame and hang in my bathroom at my new apartment. Something cheeky but still classy to go with my black and white bathroom theme.
4. Reading at the Starbucks, not even ten minutes walking distance from my apartment. I switched from my normal hot caramel macchiato to the iced version for summer. Its so nice to sit in a Starbucks with a book and coffee for hours. Honestly one of my favorite places.
5. Happy National Donut day! I am not going to say I have a problem, but I have a small obsession with donuts. My favorites are Dunkin Donuts: chocolate frosting and sprinkles, chocolate cake donuts, and cronut donuts. And of course chocolate long johns from Quiktrip. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Have a great weekend everyone! I am headed back to St. Louis for the weekend! Pool and reading case studies is on my to do list.
XOXO

Relationship Series Part 1

I am going to start my relationship series. This will entail my relationship, my past relationships, breakups, issues, etc. If you have anything you want me to talk about leave a comment below and I will make a post about it! But today I am going to talk about my current relationship. I read a book called Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert (she wrote Eat, Pray, Love btw). This is one of my all time favorite books, she analyzes marriage and relationships, coming to terms with them from a cynical and then historical standpoint. I LOVE this book! It made me reevaluate and rethink my views. Annnnyways, she said something that has stuck with me, and since I have lent my book out, I cannot directly quote it but I can paraphrase. 'If you ever need a conversation starter, ask a couple how they met, there will be drama, suspense, a plot, highs and lows, and it will end with a happy 'here we are now or happily ever after' type.' Every couple loves to talk about how they met. So here's my story.

Steve and I met on December 28th, 2013. I had been home in St. Louis for a few weeks on break and was spending most  of my time in front of the fireplace with a book. I had gotten out of a two year relationship at the beginning of November and I was still recovering. I had gone on a few dates, and was talking to a guy, but I knew it wasn't going anywhere. Especially since I had finished up PhD applications and had no clue where I was going to be after graduation. So I wasn't feeling very social. But that night, my mom hinted, well clearly said, "you need to go out, go do something!" So I begrudgingly texted my friend Rachel to see what she was up to. She said she was going to a soccer bar by her house (She lives downtown) and I should come. She said it was going to be some friends. So I drug myself off the couch, through on a sweater and boots, still wearing my glasses, headed downtown. I walk in the bar, texting Rachel, and I spot her. And immediately spot a guy at the table, in a Mountain Hardware jacket with a high and tight. (For anyone non military, its basically a giveaway that they are in the service.) Whoa he was hot! But I didn't want to say anything, so I just asked her what she wanted from the bar and got us two beers. We headed back to the table, and I sat down next to his twin brother. I talked to his brother most of the night but still when I could, I would engage the cute marine with stories of hazing etc. My friend ended up leaving around midnight but I stayed for another hour. After saying bye, I left and headed the 30 miles home. The next morning, she texted me asking what I thought of Steve, I said I thought he was reallllly cute. She said good! He wants your number. Three excruciatingly long days later, he finally messaged me. He had left right after we met, to get back to his base and work out in San Diego. I was leaving in a week to go back to Charleston, SC to finish my Masters. We were on opposite sides of the country, it wasn't going to work. Well, five days later he booked his flight to Charleston. And we had our first date on Valentines Day (Im not one of those cheesy girls so GAG on the special date on a special day crap!). I took him to my favorite BBQ hole in the wall restaurant. Six months later, we are still together. We see each other about once a month for an extended weekend and we have regular Skype dates. Considering we are both from St.Louis, and our families live there, it makes things a little easier. And now that I live in Missouri, we are no longer a country apart. We make it work. He got me books for Valentines day and flowers this past Monday for my first day of my PhD! Who does that?! He's wonderful, and since he doesn't read my blog, I can gush (Even though I cringe when girls do this). Steve is great, he's 28 and an officer in the Marine Corps. He's working on his Masters in History. He is smart, kind, funny, goofy, touchy feely- something I am not, loves to work out, eat healthy, read, travel, hike, camp- ehhh, not my thing. He loves me unconditionally and puts up with my insecurities and my goofiness. He is beyond supportive, one of my biggest advocates, my wrestling partner, and he makes me want to be better every day. He is not my happiness or the end all of my life. I may be 24 but I am not that disillusioned by love. He is a great compliment to my life. I love him very much, and I am counting down the days until we roadtrip to North Carolina and Virginia in July. Yes, we both do things that drive the other crazy, good and bad. But we work, and I am happy. Happiness is always my goal in life.
